Gamma aka Dr. Patrick Cain (name work in progress)

Gamma was a man that was part of a gamma radiation experiment, but instead of making thinks blow-up, the gamma bomb project (wink wink), he used gamma rays to help people repair destroyed cells in the human body. The experiment was showing progress but it was slow. The funding was being threatened to be pulled from his project if he did not show clear signs of usable product. He was desperate, he was not only using this to help people but also himself. He suffered from a degenerative disease that was eating at his stomach and was advancing through his body. He needed the funding. He had been decided to use his treatment on himself in hopes of saving his project. The gamma radiation he was using were non lethal doses, but that didn't mean his device could not produce a lethal dose. In an attempt to progress the process he increased the levels. (That is just a bad idea when your using a design from an old gamma bomb) It wasn't a large explosion but large enough to destroy his lab. The good news was that it worked, the bad news was that he went through some changes.

Think a reverse Hulk, his skin had turned a light shade of blue, his hair was gone, he had grown a few inches in hight, significantly. He had no visible muscle mass increase, no bulk, nothing, but he was stronger think a swimmers body, long, lean, and condensed body. But those weren't the biggest changes, his eyes could see gamma radiation as clear as day. Our would is full of radiation, we just cannot see it and its not at levels that will effect humans. (stay away from bomb testing zones) He soon learned that he could harness this energy around him to increase his strength and even use it to help heal people, like himself. He was the basic hulk abilities, super human strength, rapid regeneration, but with the added bounce of healing others and gamma radiation manipulation.

He faces problems, as he retains his rational human mind it can easily be overwhelmed by the energy around him causing mood swings and prone to anger. But he learned to control his mind and powers through mediation and physical training, he also cannot change back to his human form. Those are his problems caused by the accident. He has his own problems, he lost his job, he doesn't want to be a hero, and he has an annoyingly up beat personality.
He is not a fan of Dr. Bruce Banner, he had hoped to show the world how you can take a bad thing and make it into a positive for mankind.

I thought about making a non rage based hulk that doesn't fall into the line of big bulking figures. He is not a super smart guy (he blew himself up, on purpose) but he is deep thinker. He can solve impossible situations was simple solutions. He does like to smash though, "Gamma Smash!", who wouldn't? He is on the run from the "super hero registration act", he doesn't want to be a hero, just your average big blue man trying to rebuild his lab to help save lives. Thats hard to do when he and others keep blowing it up. But as I have said he has a very VERY happy out look on life, but deep down he is afraid and has his own problems. He wants to meet Bruce Banner so that he can help him with his research.
